Compassion In Action
SAFA is a faith-based nonprofit working in the humanitarian space to meet urgent community needs in rural Africa. Its work restores hope and dignity to many indigent families in remote villages without access to running water nor electricity. SAFA promotes life-sustaining projects, like water-wells, agrarian projects, and employment opportunities that all promote better livelihoods.
COMMUNITY LIVELIHOODS PROGRAM (CLP)
-
Waterwells Project: Water is such an essential resource, yet most rural communities lack safe running water for household use, personal hygiene and sanitation. Our solar-powered and tank-equipped water-wells are reliable sources of clean water, saving communities from relying on erratic rains for unsafe water. Each of our water-wells serves approximately 80 -100 families.

2. Livelihoods Projects: Communities are capitalizing on the availability of water to engage in a variety of livelihood
projects that rely on water. Families are embarking on year-round cropping, livestock and poultry farming, which are
promoting household nutrition, food-security and income-generation.

3. The Sewing Workshop: This project employs women and provides them valuable skills and a steady income. Zimbabwe has high rates of unemployment, despite very high literacy rates. The women will receive training in various sewing skillsets and make various products such as stuffed animal items, clothing, clothing, bags and other items. Jobs and skills will result in socio-economic transformation of the beneficiaries; lives.
